I would like to feature different crafts from time to time and today’s craft is the Mandala Technique. It is brought to you by our 13 year old great niece, Kennedy Bland. She loves to draw and do different crafts and she is so good at all of it.

Here is what she has to say about these beautiful gifts she made us.

“Last Christmas I decided I wanted to make home made gifts for my family in Halifax. I wanted to recreate the Mandala that I did at school. Although I didn’t have the materials that I used at school, so I had to improvise. Instead of using the dotting tools, I used the back of paint brushes. So I dipped the back of the paint brush in the paint, then dotted it on the canvas”

You can see how beautiful they are. She did a wonderful job and she did it free hand. That’s right, no stencils. That’s remarkable. They are so intricate and stunning. That photos don’t do them justice.

Just a note. She used a white canvas and painted it black first.

Hopefully this inspires you to use this technique on a card or your next project.
