As many of you know I am owned by an African Gray Parrot, Molly. She is our kid and believe me, she is with one of us constantly. A lot of people don't see what I see in her. They think that I am crazy ~ it is only a bird. Well she is my feather baby and tomorrow I will be with a lot of other people that feel the same way as I do. I will be attending the East Coast Avian Association Annual Summer Gala at the Bedford Legion in Bedford NS, between 10 am and 4 pm.
I made this Lapel Pin of an African Grey Parrot totally from Stamping Products and I will be wearing it tomorrow. I sound like such a Bird Geek. This is a way for me to merge the two loves ~ Molly and Paper Crafting. Besides, most times that I am stamping she is on my shoulder anyways.
Also, I wanted to show you how to use your Bird Builder Punch #117191 in a different way. Just think you could change the colors of the bird and make any bird you want to. Hmmmm! a Real Red Cardinal for Christmas!!!!
This project is a great way to use up your scraps of Card Stock that I keep telling you to save.

INSTRUCTIONS:
1) Punch a scrap piece of Basic Gray Card Stock using the Bird Builder Punch to make the Bird's Body. You will not need the Branch. Repeat this process and set the extra Body aside. You wil not need the Wing or the Branch for this one.
2) Using your Paper Snips cut off the Bird's Beak and a portion of the Tail as shown.
3) Ink up the Sponge Dauber using the Basic Gray Classic Stampin' Pad. Ink the edges of the Bird Body and the Wing.
4) Punch a scrap piece of Real Red Card Stock using the Bird Builder Punch. You will not need the Branch. You will repeat this process 2 more times. You don't need all of the Real Red Bird's Body, so cut them off, but make sure that you leave a little tab on each Tail, so you can layer and glue the 3 parts together. Adhere them together using SNAIL Adhesive.
5) Punch a piece of Basic Black Card Stock using the Word Window Punch. Using the Paper Snips, fashion a Beak out of one end. You will not need the entire piece, but make sure that you leave a little tab to adhere the Beak to the Body. Adhere the Head using SNAIL Adhesive.
6) With the Beak in place draw the White part using the uni-ball Signo Gel Pen. Set aside to dry.
7) Punch a piece of Old Olive Card Stock using the Bird Builder Punch. You will not need the Bird. Repeat this process to make
another Branch.
8) Punch a scrap piece of Whisper White Card Stock using the 1/4" Circle Punch. Adhere it to the colored White Gel Pen area using SNAIL Adhesive.
9) Take the Googlie Eye and adhere it to the Whisper Whire Circle using a Mini Glue Dot.
10) Adhere the Wing on the Body using a Stampin' Dimensional.
11) Adhere the Tails to the Body using SNAIL Adhesive.
12) Adhere the 2 Branches by putting SNAIL Adhesive on the back of the body and adhere them to it.
13) Adhere the second Basic Gray Body to the other layers using SNAIL Adhesive.Try the second body first, because it may have to be trimmed so you can't see it from the front. Once it looks good adhere it using SNAIL Adhesive.
14) Adhere a strip of Stampin' Dimensionals to the Pin Back and adhere it to the assembled African Gray Bird.
