4 Tips to Use the Paper Doily Large Sizzlet Die #125592

Paper Doily Large Sizzlets Die #125592S

I love the intricate details of Paper Doily Large Sizzlet Die #125592 found on page 7 of the 2012 Occasions Mini Catalogue. It is the perfect size to fill the front of a Card.

You will create the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine "Sandwich" ~ Multipurpose Platform (Tab #2), 1 Standard Cutting Pad, Paper Doily Large Sizzlet Die #125592, the Card Stock or Designer Series Paper, the other Standard Cutting Pad and an extra sheet of Card Stock. The extra sheet of Card Stock acts as a shim to give a little bit more pressure that is needed to cut out the Paper Doily Large Sizzlet Die #125592.

When you run the "Sandwich" through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine #113439, go slowly and this will also help to punch it out.

Once you have the Card Stock or Designer Series Paper punched out, roll it in half (without creasing it) back and forth, this will loosen all of the pieces. Some may stick in the design, but all you have to do is poke them out with the Paper-Piercing Tool #116631 or the end of a pencil.

Big Shot Diagrams ~ What Are They For?

How to Build A Big Shot Letterpress Plate Sandwich Diagram

Q: I have noticed as I am looking through the Big Shot section of the new 2011-2012 Idea Book & Catalogue, that there are diagrams located in each section. Can you explain to me what they are?

A: The Big Shot Die Cutting Machine #113439 uses a roller to apply pressure over the material or paper that you want to cut. There is a 1" gap between the base and the roller. The Dies, Letterpress Plates, Embossing Folders, and Texturz Plates are different thicknesses, so depending on which accessory that you are using you have to build a "Sandwich" to fill in the gap. If not when you run the accessory through the Big Shot Die Cutting Machine the roller won't touch the Die etc and the shape won't be punched out.
You have heard me mentioned that you have to build a "Sandwich". This refers to the order in which you layer the different accessories to fill in the gap. The diagrams show you the order depending on the section that you are looking at.
For Example if you want to use a Letterpress Plate. It is very slim, if you follow the layers shown in the diagram above, you would (starting from the bottom and working up) start with the Multipurpose Platform (Tab1), Letterplate Plate, Material, and the Standard Cutting Pad.

Tuesday’s Tool Tip ~ Red Glimmer Paper #121790

  Red Glimmer Paper #121790

Do you want to be able to add a little sparkle to your Valentine Card or Paper Project?

Well, Red Glimmer Paper is for you.

The Red Glimmer Paper is found on page 7 of the 2011 Occasions Mini Catalogue.

It is a permanent Sparkle Paper, which is embedded with small pieces of Red Glitter, that won't brush off or flake off. You can add the Sparkle without adding the mess that comes with using Glitter.

Red Glimmer Paper comes in packages of two 12" x 12" sheets. This is big enough to be able to cut it with any of the Rule-Based Big Shot Dies and the Big Shot Die-Cutting Machine #113439.

That is correct, you can make Boxes and Bags using the Red Glimmer Paper and fill it with sweets for you Sweetie. This is just in time for Valentine's Day.

If you don't want to make a Box or a Bag, you can cut the Red Glimmer Paper using any punch and add just a little Glimmer to your Card or Paper Project.

Since the Red Glimmer Paper contains acid, it is not recommended for use in Scrapbooks.
